DESCRIPTION:Sponsored by the American Public Works Association (APWA)\, National Public Works Week (NPPW) is observed during the third full week of May to recognize the importance of public works in an organized society. The week-long observation also sheds light on the brave and essential role that the public works employees play in our lives. By definition\, public works are the state-funded physical and social infrastructure of a country. From the sanitation of our roads to the dams and power grids\, public works are an indispensable part of any developed society.

SUMMARY:Memorial Day - Zone A Trash SUSPENDED\, Zone B Recycling IN EFFECT
DESCRIPTION:Zone A trash collections will be SUSPENDED on Monday\, May 26\, as Newark DPW will be closed in observance of Memorial Day. Residents in Zone A should NOT put out their recyclables on Sunday night as usual. \nCitywide street sweeping is also suspended. \nHowever\, Zone B paper recycling collections will REMAIN IN EFFECT. Residents in Zone B should put out their recyclables on the curb by 6 PM on Monday night\, as usual. \nWe thank all Newark residents for your patience and cooperation.
