Recycle Your E-Waste! FREE Electronic Recycling Event on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, 7:30 am to 2 pm at Peter Francisco Park in the Ironbound, RAIN OR SHINE

Got an old cell phone or computer? Throw it out the right way!

The Department of Public Works and Panasonic will host a FREE E-Waste Recycling Event on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, where residents can drop off old, broken, or unwanted electronic waste. 

*Electronic waste, also known as e-waste, is household waste that contains electrical devices or parts, such as cell phones, computers, and televisions. E-waste cannot be disposed of in regular trash, as it may contain toxic or hazardous substances. Properly dispose of your e-waste by dropping it off at a certified e-waste recycling center, or at an e-waste community collection event (like this one!).

We DO NOT collect:

  • Mini Fridges
  • Air Conditioners
  • Oil-Filled Space Heaters
  • White goods or large appliances
  • Freon-containing devices
  • Smoke detectors
  • Loose batteries
  • Anything hazardous, acutely hazardous, toxic or words of similar import or regulatory effect
