'Slam Dunk The Junk!': Newark Public Works to Host Earth Day Clean Up on April 22, 2025

The City of Newark Department of Public Works’ Division of Recycling is teaming up with the Clean Communities Council, Inc., to host “Slam Dunk the Junk” Clean Up Event on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in honor of Earth Day.

The event will begin at 8 AM at the Newark DPW headquarters located at 62 Frelinghuysen Avenue. There, volunteer teams will be issued clean-up equipment, and be transported to pre-selected or chosen locations, at 9 a.m. to remove trash, litter, and debris until 12 PM. Lunch will be served afterwards.
