Christmas Tree Pickup IN EFFECT:
Trees to be collected on January 2026 Yard Waste Pickup Days
January is officially Christmas Tree pickup season!
Newark DPW will collect Christmas Trees on January yard waste days. The schedule is as follows:
Zone A: Wednesday, January 21, 2026 (3rd Wednesday of the month)
Zone B: Wednesday, January 28, 2026 (4th Wednesday of the month)
As usual with yard waste, place your trees out on the curb between 7 PM – 10 PM the night before your pickup.
Real trees ONLY. Artificial trees will NOT be collected.
No decorations, ornaments, lights, or wreaths allowed.
Newark residents can also drop off their trees at their nearest DPW service center. Click here to find a service center near you.
