Recycle Your E-Waste! FREE Electronic Recycling Event on Thursday, September 18, 2025

Got an old cell phone or computer? Throw it out the right way!

The City of Newark Department of Public Works will host a FREE E-Waste Recycling Event on Thursday, September 18, 2025, where residents can drop off old, broken, or unwanted electronic waste.

Electronic waste, also known as e-waste, is household waste that contains electrical devices or parts, such as cell phones, computers, and televisions. E-waste cannot be disposed of in regular trash, as it may contain toxic or hazardous substances. Properly dispose of your e-waste by dropping it off at a certified e-waste recycling center, or at an e-waste community collection event (like this one!).

Items must NOT include Freon or Oil. Click here for a full list of accepted e-waste.

Location: Boylan Street Recreation Center, 916 South Orange Avenue, Newark, NJ 07106

Time: 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM (RAIN OR SHINE!)`
